Following evidence of non-compliance with the regulations No 007/TRANS/RT/RURA/2015 of 1st June 2015 governing passengers road transport and license obligations; the Regulatory Board of Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority in its meeting of 20th May 2016 revoked the Person's Transport License No RURA/TR/ROAD/L466 of SOTRA TOURS & Travel Agency Ltd.

This comes after an investigation of SOTRA Tours & Travel Agency Ltd's performance by the Regulator which revealed that the Company has not only failed to comply with its license requirements, obligations and passengers' road transport regulations but also has serious managerial problems that has led to poor performance and affected other stakeholders in sector.

The license revocation was decided after several efforts in assisting SOTRA to fix its managerial problems without success.

RURA has taken all necessary measures to ensure that service continuity will not be disrupted on Kigali - Huye and Kigali - Rusizi routes where SOTRA Tours has been operating.

This decision takes effect from 23rd May 2016.
