Rwanda and Canada

Co-operation between the Republic of Rwanda and Canada dates back to 1963. Today, this co-operation is exercised through various channels:

• Direct bilateral co-operation;
• Indirect bilateral co-operation passing through non-governmental organisations;
• Multilateral co-operation, developed through the intermediation of international organisations such as the specialised agencies of the United Nations;
• Commercial co-operation through the private sector

Currently active programmes accord particular importance to the following sectors:

• Rural development
• Gender issues;
• Good governance;
• Development of the private sector;
• Reinforcement of institutional capabilities.

This co-operation is exercised principally at a bilateral level. Currently active programmes accord particular importance to the following areas: health – agriculture – sport

Co-operation between the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Haiti:
This is exercised principally at a bilateral level.

Co-operation between the Republic of Rwanda and Nicaragua:
This is exercised principally at a bilateral level.
