President Paul Kagame is among heads of 10 countries selected to play a role in mobilizing the world about the role of a woman in development.
This program was launched in June, 2015 when selected ten heads of states outlined priorities in promoting HeForShe program.
President Kagame preferred putting emphasis on ensuring gender equality and increasing the number of women participating in ICT.
There is also a plan of increasing the number of women attending Vocational Training Schools (TVET) and eradicating gender based violence as well.
During his recent visit on March 28th, 2016 in Ngoma district, president Kagame requested Rwandans to support him in uplifting HeForShe program.
“All men across the world are requested to demonstrate willingness to support the development of a woman. Rwanda has demonstrated willingness, and I want to keep demonstrating our commitment to supporting women's development. I have already signed along with others but others are not fast in providing that support. Ask those men on my behalf the reason why they are slowing in adopting the program of supporting woman's development,” he said.
