A policeman in Busogo sector of Musanze district has this morning shot dead his colleague and wounded another in an incident where he was too shot dead.

The Rwanda National Police spokesperson ACP Celestin Twahirwa confirmed the incident and said that the cause of shootings remains unknown.

He explained that around 7:30am, a policeman, AIP Richard Kabandize shot dead CIP Jean Bosco Mugabo and wounded another officer Sgt Bigirabagabo.

After shooting at his colleagues, Kabandize run inside the police station but continued with sporadic firing which prompted other policemen to shot him dead.

Twahirwa said investigations into the motive have since started. “We have delegated an investigation team.”
